This study focuses is on causes of poor academic performance of pupils in the school. The study briefly X-rayed some of the causes of poor academic performance of pupils in the school and compared its effects on children from divorce homes and those from stable homes.
The researcher looked at the background of the study, statement of the problem, its purpose and the limitations. Some research questions were postulated.
The researcher reviewed related literature and in the methodology of the study, the researcher used a self designed questionnaire, oral interview and personal observation method for data collection. The data collected was analysed using simple percentages. Also the researcher discussed the findings and relationship of the results. He also drew conclusions, summarized and made some recommendation on how to improved on causes of poor academic performance of students generally in Ikere local government areas.

Background of the study
Computer generally may seem to be very hard a far as the primary school level is concerned, bur a close look at it will convenience the investigator that computer science is not well delivered in our primary school particularly in Ikere Local Government Area of Ekiti State.
The factors affecting the teaching and learning of computer science in all level of education are many and varied.
All agents of education included homes and even the pupils contributed their own quota to the poor performance in the school external examination in computer science.
It is also evident that the government owes it as a responsibility to finance and equip schools with teaching aids, to enhance effective teaching and learning in the schools.
