POLITICAL PARTIES FORMATION AND IDEOLOGICAL SYSTEM IN NIGERIA A CASE STUDY OF P.D.P AND A.C
This work focus on political parties formation and ideological system in Nigeria with the case study of PDP, AC. The study highlights the meaning of political parties and types of political parties we have.
This work is divided into five chapter i.e. we have chapter one which introduced us to the relationship in which political parties formation has created between citizen and leadership between elites and group it also expose us to how the study has groups its also expose us to how the study has contributed to the political development in Nigeria.
In chapter two literature review and the conceptual analysis will talk about various definition of some scholars and other political actors in Nigeria.
Further more, the work will touch some areas political parties between 1920 – 1950 and between 1950 – 1966 in Nigeria Political parties in the aborted third republic will be included too.
The manifestoes of the political parties in the fourth republic i.e. AD, AC and PDP will be in the work also. Problem and prospects of the political parties in Nigeria will be hindered.
Finally, I have in the work what election in Nigeria had turned to. How people have been struggling to be a political office holder.
This work will at the same time recommend some systematic ways to see that political activities in this country Nigeria will not be a non – socialist one to the masses.

Political parties formation and ideology may be described as how people of like minds or similar ideology come together and organize themselves according to their belief with the aim of acquiring political power and retaining such power within the confines or constitutional provision of the state either through a conservative liberalist or capitalistic ideology.
However, the groups are critical actors in any political system which contribute major inputs into the socio – economic and political process and have constitute significant plant forms for unifying the various clearages groups and of mobilization toward the nation goals.
Political parties formation has provided enormous opportunities for Nigerians for political participation, interest articulation, interest aggregation and alternative opinions furthermore, political parties have provide vital linkages between the citizenry and leadership, between elits and groups. In these ways, they have contributed economy governmental performance and systemic stability in Nigeria. As key actors in the Nigerian socio – economic and political process and performance need to be examined.
Election on the other hand enable the choice of a change of leadership. The success and performance of election sources how effective democratic transitional process are and also reflects the level of political stability.
Although in Nigeria, elections have been so characterized with irregularities and fraud and have been fought as war. This process will be examined through the political parties formation and its ideology with a case study of the alliance for democracy (AD), All peoples parties (APP), people democratic parties (PDP) and action congress (AC).
The approach adopted is that of individual examinations of political periods with brief over views denoting general tends and tendencies.
STATEMENT OF PROBLEM
It is a general belief that political parties formation in Nigeria and its ideology over the years have gone for beyond people expectation as a result of premodial factor such as; ethnicity and regionalism which culminated into ethnic clearage religious bio of and the lost of national identity.
In contrary, other schools of thought are of the opinion that the emergence of political parties in Nigeria politics and its ideology have gone a long way in contributing to the Nigeria political, socio – cultural and economic emancipation that is worthy of mentioning.
OBJECTIVE OF THE STUDY
The objective of this study is to place on record the effect of political parties formation and the ideological system which has affected the political stability of the nation progressively or otherwise.
It will so affirm the opportunity of making useful recommendation where necessary for the development or placement of democracy in Nigeria.
It is the hope of the research work that Nigerians world understand those area of their strengths and shortcomings having done an intensive research work with the view to providing a vary forward.

The scope of the research work will be limited to the contemporary political parties as has been mentioned in research topic i.e. the last and present political dispersion may 1999 to date.
However the study might be constrained by enough accessible materials and finance to carry out a thorough investigation on the one hand death of textbooks on the being a contain porgy issue.
