PROFITABILITY AND LIQUIDATION MANAGEMENT IN NIGERIA COMMERCIAL BANKS (A CASE STUDY OF SELECTED BANKS IN NIGERIA)

ABSTRACT

A good number of Nigerian Commercial Banks failed as a result of poor management of their profitability and liquid. Therefore the project, profitability and liquidity management in Nigerian Commercial Banks emphasizes on the basic need for the effective profitability and liquidity management and also considered the ways in which banks could effectively manage their profitability and liquidity. Thirty staff of banks in Ado-Ekiti responded to a self-constructed questionnaire designed to collect the data. Simple percentage was used to analyze the data collected. The results showed that a good number of Nigerian commercial banks failed because of poor management of their profitability and liquidity. The researcher recommends that policies that will encourage effective portfolio management should be put in place.
