The study investigated the importance of
instructional materials in teaching and learning Biology in secondary school.
Nine schools were used for the study. Twenty six item questionnaires were used
to collect data.

The result revealed that teachers don’t
make use of instructional materials frequently and adequately. It is also
revealed in this study that present conditions of facilities, in various
schools are bad. The supply of instructional materials had very great effect on
the performance of the guide the realization of the objectives of the study.
Answers to the research question led the result implication of which will be of
great concern of the practicing teachers, school authorities and government
while each will mend their way as effected.
